HeadsUp Horsemen is dedicated to fostering screen-smart habits in Tarrytown & Sleepy Hollow schools and community

FREE FAMILY ACTIVITY

‘Amazing’ Book Club

Parents and TUFSD students in grades 3rd through 7th are invited to join us on Tuesday, June 2, at 6:30pm, in the Sleepy Hollow Middle School Library Media Center for screens-free activities and a discussion of The Amazing Generation: Your Guide to Fun and Freedom in a Screen-Filled World.

If you haven’t done so already, click here to claim your free copy of the book and to RSVP for the event.

“My kid was so engaged, creative, happy…and then I got her a smartphone and everything changed.”

Join the movement of parents who pledge to wait until at least 8th grade to give their kids a smartphone and a social media account.

What We Do

awareness

IRL conversations and community activities that afford the opportunity to discuss the effects of devices, social media, and gaming on our children, ourselves, and our community

education

we collect, curate, and share information about digital tech so families can make informed decisions introducing different types of technology into their lives

support

we advise families who want to hold off on various technologies for their children, and we will provide information on smartphone alternatives

advocacy

we will advocate for policies for screen use both at home and at school, and we will use research to support those policies

Let Your Voice be Heard

We’ve created a resource for parents with observations and feedback (good or bad) about how technology is used in their child’s classroom. Visit Parent Voices to learn the best way to get your feedback in front of the right decision-maker.
